PD\/Max externals, computer applications, or embedded processors. to do this we could cover 5 topics.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">c programming<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">PD external programming<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Embedded programming on&nbsp; STM32F4\/7 bare metal or electrosmith daisy<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">JUCE music application API<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">computer music\/signal processing algorithms<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>\u2022\u2022\u2022\u2022likely schedule<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">introduction, discussion, basics, PD externals<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">dsp code 1 \u2013 amplifiers and distortion&nbsp;(first assignment)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">STM programming \u2013 ADC and DAC, gates, CODEC, analog connections&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">dsp code 2 \u2013 oscillators and sampling&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">dsp code 3 \u2013 filters&nbsp;(second assignment)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">JUCE API \u2013 plugins and applications \u2013 GUI, parameters, MIDI, audio<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">dsp code 3 \u2013 delay reverb<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">other topics as interest or need requires (final assignment)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>\u2022\u2022\u2022\u2022texts \u2013 software \u2013 hardware<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>all of these texts are suggested, but not required. however, all of these books will help you solve programming problems or give you signal processing ideas<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>C Primer Plus<\/strong> by Stephen Prata<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Computer Music<\/strong> by Charles Dodge<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>DAFX<\/strong> by Udo Zolzer<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>ARM Cortex M4 Cookbook<\/strong> by Mark Fisher<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING AND APPLICATIONS : USING THE ARM CORTEX M4<\/strong> by Donald Reay<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">PD is required for PD external programming<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">JUCE API from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juce.com\">www.juce.com<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">For ARM programming obtain either an STM32F4Discovery Board or an STM32F7Discovery.&nbsp;The F4 board is slightly slower and has only sound out, but should be sufficient for this class.&nbsp;The F7 board has a touch display and sound in and out (though not simultaneously)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">STM32F407G-DISC1 $21.70<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">STM32F746G-DISCO $56.25<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">As of this year there is a much simpler ARM board available. The <a class=\"inline_disabled\" href=\"https:\/\/www.electro-smith.com\/daisy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Electrosmith Daisy Seed<\/a>.
