We will be talking about fundamental techniques in computer sound generation in this class. I\u2019ll spend 1 or 2 classes on each topic and we will present works in progress every two weeks. The topics are most likely to be:<\/p>\n

  1. oscillators, modulators, harmonics, sequencing, polyphony<\/li>\n
  2. filters, amplifiers, distortion, waveshaping, harmonizers, MIDI<\/li>\n
  3. sampling, looping, brassage, granular techniques<\/li>\n
  4. delay, chorus, flange, reverb<\/li>\n
  5. spectral techniques, convolution, time & pitch shifting<\/li>\n
  6. spatialization, binaural filters, VBAP, ambisonics<\/li>\n
  7. physical modeling, waveguides, modal synthesis<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Additional\u00a0topics can be added to this class. We will discuss your specific interests and needs in the first class. Throughout the class we will cover general Max\/MSP programming techniques, controllers, interfaces, live instrument integration, etc.<\/p>\n
